What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file/data file that the site stores on your computer, tablet, or smartphone when you visit the site. A cookie is not a program, but a passive file. A cookie is used to keep track of what happens during your visit to the site and to be able to recognize your computer on later visits.

The purpose of cookies

Cookies can be divided into the following different categories:

Session cookies are necessary to maintain a connection between your computer and our website. They are used e.g. in connection activities on the site. Session cookies are deleted again when you close your browser.

Persistent cookies are stored on your computer and are used to remember a choice you have made. For example, this type of cookie helps the website to remember your entered information and selected settings when you visit the website again in the future. This results in faster and more convenient access, as you e.g. do not need to log in again.

Performance cookies are used to improve the website and its operation as well as to collect data that we can use in marketing contexts. These cookies help us understand how users interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously for use in statistics. Eg. These cookies are used to count the number of visitors, to see a list of internal searches, and to show which subpages users most often visit.

Some of these cookies are generated by our website and can only be viewed by us. These cookies may to a limited extent collect data that can be attributed to the individual user. This is e.g. the user’s IP address, which is only used in connection with fraud with e.g. payment cards.

Other performance cookies originate from Google Analytics, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Google Analytics: This cookie collects data about your behavior (traffic data, including your IP address) on our website. This data is used for our statistics in Google Analytics and in relation to our marketing via Google Ads.

Note that we have enabled Google Signals. This allows Google Analytics to compare the visitor information collected on our site with Google information from users with Google Accounts who have signed in and given consent to ad customization. This Google information may e.g. be your search history, YouTube history, and data from other web pages that use Google Signals.

Data generated by Google Analytics is sent to and stored on Google’s servers in the United States.

Facebook: This cookie collects data about your behavior on our site and compares it with your profile on Facebook and/or Instagram (which is owned by Facebook) if you are logged in to your Facebook account while visiting our website. This information helps us optimize our marketing on Facebook and Instagram. We only have access to a fully anonymized statistic and cannot attribute data to the individual user.

LinkedIn: Works the same way as Facebook.

How to delete or block cookies

You can always block cookies on your computer by changing the settings in your browser. Where you find the settings depends on which browser you use. If you choose to block cookies, you must be aware that there are many of the website’s functions and services that you can not use, because they presuppose that the website can remember the choices you make.

Cookies you have previously accepted may be deleted from your computer at any time. You can do this in your computer’s internet settings. The procedure depends on the browser you are using. Get help deleting or blocking cookies here.
